Cho La Pass is a dramatic route starting from Dzongla to Gokyo that involves a glacier crossing and steep rocks. This pass will also reward us with the famous views of Ama Dablam at the staggering pinnacle elevation of 5420m. The challenging terrain demands focus, but the exhilaration of conquering this high-altitude pass is unforgettable and will forever be etched in our memory lane.
Renjo La Pass, which stands tall at an elevation of 5360m, connects us from Gokyo to Lunden. This pass is a little bit easier as the strenuous steep is a bit less as compared than others. This pass crossing rewards us with the very famous views of Everest, Gokyo Valley, and Cho Oyu in our backdrop. This pass is the final of our three-pass trek and will make the other steep and adventurous passes feel easier on our knees.
The Gokyo Lakes are a serene landscape with the coloured water framed around the high peaks and glaciers. The climb of Gokyo Ri, we are treated to one of the Himalayas’ finest viewpoints, with the views of Everest, Lhotse, and Cho Oyu framing the horizon. This trek is amongst the most challenging treks as it passes the high-altitude passes and Kala Patthar peak at a highest of 5545m. Also, the path is rugged, and the weather can be very unpredictable at times.
Altitude sickness is a major challenge that causes headaches, nausea, and dizziness above the of 3000 m. Gradual ascent and proper acclimatization help in avoiding such risks.
