Spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November) offer stable weather, clear skies, and moderate temperatures, ideal for trekking and climbing.
You do not need previous climbing experience, but basic mountaineering skills are recommended. The Himalayan Guides will train the basic techniques before the Island Peak expeditions.
We need multiple permits, like; Sagarmatha Park Permit, Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Permit, and the Island Peak Climbing Permit. The Himalayan guides will obtain all the necessary permits to assist you with the permit.
The trek can be considered as a strenuous one as it combines the longer trekking days, glacier crossing, and trekking through the rough terrain. The Island Peak climb day can last up to 10-12 hours round-trip.
Teahouses provide basic twin-sharing rooms in villages like Namche and Dingboche. Tents are used at Island Peak Base Camp with sleeping bags and mats.
Teahouses serve dal bhat, noodles, soups, and pancakes. Base camp meals include rice and pasta. Vegetarian options are available with prior notice.
The itinerary provides the rest days to acclimatize to the rising altitude in Namche and Dingboche. We must follow the instructions of our guides and staff to avoid such situations.
